What is planned?

Article 4 (1) of Schedule 3 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015

Notice of Intended Cancellation of an Article 4 Direction Article 4 direction: ATD27 - Land at Blackmoor Road, Abbots Leigh

North Somerset Council intends to cancel Article 4 direction (reference ATD27), which affects eight properties on Blackmoor Road, Abbots Leigh. The direction has been in place since 1967 and restricts the permitted development rights of these dwellings by imposing limits upon domestic extensions and outbuildings. Following an informal stage of consultation and consideration of the responses received a decision has been taken to formally proceed with revoking the direction. This is the official notice of intent to cancel the direction with effect from 13 December 2024, as required by Schedule 3 of The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015. Notice has been served on all affected properties.

Notice of confirmation of an Order Highways Act 1980 Part of Public Footpath LA 12/4, Birches Farm, Weston Road, Long Ashton Public Path Diversion Order No.7 2024

On 17 October 2024 North Somerset Council ('NSC') confirmed the above Order, made under section 119, Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert that part of Public Footpath LA 12/4 in the Parish of Long Ashton, within the District of North Somerset as described below: from point A (Grid reference ST 52588 69593), running in a southeasterly direction, to point B (ST 52814 69527), to point C (ST 52920 69529), a distance of approximately 350m to a footpath from point D (ST 52637 69423), running in a generally easterly direction to point E (grid ref. ST 52672 69429) and then northeasterly direction to point F (ST 52828 69492) and then continuing in a northeasterly direction to point C (ST 52920 69529), a total distance of approximately 306m.

Alternatively, visit Long Ashton Post Office, 29 Weston Road, Long Ashton BS41 9AA (Mon 8am to 6pm, Sat 8am to 6pm, Sun 8am to 1pm). The Order comes into force on the 14 November but, if any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 30 October 2024, make an application to the High Court.

24/P/1637/FUL - Proposed change of use from a cattery (Sui Generis) to a 3-bed annex (C3) to be used as ancillary accommodation, to include demolition of the existing timber extension and replacement of existing glazing with external wall to match existing and new entrance doors and windows at Meadows Cattery, 3 Dial Lane, Felton.

24/P/2196/FUH - Demolition of the existing conservatory and proposed erection of a replacement single storey rear, side and front extension to include creation of a new front entrance, raised decking and installation of an air source heat pump to the rear at 65 West Hill, Portishead.

Listed Building Application in a Conservation Area

24/P/2197/LBC - Listed building consent for proposed repair and refurbishment works to the external and internal building elements of Weston Hospicecare's retail unit at 89 Hill Road, Clevedon BS21 7PN, works to include: Cleaning and removal of paint finish from stonework to frontage of the building and removal of existing render on the steps elevation and parapet walls to be replaced with new lime-based render. Replacement of 2no. timber windows (1no. sash and 1no. casement window) to the flank wall; Remove existing concrete floor tiles on roof terrace and replace with new together with new bitumen waterproof membrane. Replace existing skylight with 2no. new Velux Modular Skylights and general refurbishments of the interior and exterior including associated preparation and minor repair works at Weston Hospicecare, 89 Hill Road, Clevedon.
