NOTICE OF MAKING OF DIRECTION UNDER ARTICLE 4(1) OF TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT) ORDER 2015

Land with frontage to Long Reach, Silkmore Lane and Green Lane West, Long Reach, West Horsley

NOTICE is hereby given that THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF GUILDFORD (‘the Council’) have made a Direction with immediate effect under article 4(1) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (‘the Order’). The Direction was made on the 8th of October 2024 and applies to the land shown edged red on the attached plan.

The Direction applies to the following development:
(1) The erection, construction, maintenance, improvement or alteration of a gate, fence, wall or other means of enclosure being development comprised within Class A of Part 2 of Schedule 2 of the said Order and not being development comprised within any other class; and
(2) The use of the land for any purpose for not more than 28 days in total in any calendar year, of which not more than 14 days in total may be used for the purposes of the holding of a market or for motor car and motorcycle racing including trials of speed and practicing for these activities, and the provision on the land of any moveable structure for the purposes of the permitted use, being development comprised within Class B of Part 4 of Schedule 2 of the said Order and not being development comprised within any other class.

The effect of the Direction is that planning permission granted by Article 3 of the Order shall not apply to development of the type specified above and that such development shall not be carried out on the Land, unless planning permission is first granted by the Council in relation to an application made to them once the Direction is in force.

The Direction comes into force in relation to the Land on the date this Notice is first served upon the owners and occupiers (if any) of the land being the 10th of October 2024.

The Direction shall remain in force until the end of 6 months from the date the Direction comes into force and shall then expire unless it has been confirmed by the Council in the meantime.

A copy of the Direction and of the map defining the area of land covered by it may be seen at the offices of the Council at Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 4BB during normal office hours Monday to Friday or a digital copy can be supplied on request by emailing planningenquiries@guildford.gov.uk.

Any representations you may wish to make concerning the Direction may be made to the local planning authority. Any representations must be received between the 10th of October 2024 and 1st of November 2024.
