What is planned?

Section 16 of the Commons Act 2006

Proposed deregistration of common land/town or village green at: VILLAGE GREEN VG117 - Smiths Green Lane, Takeley, Essex

Weston Homes Plc and The Kennedy Trust have  applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs under section 16 of the Commons Act 2006 for land forming part of the above-mentioned registered village green (the “release land”) to cease to be so registered.  The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State. The purpose of this application is to enable the delivery of the permitted development at Jack’s Field, Warish Hall Farm, Smiths Green Lane, Takeley, Essex CM22 6NZ by providing access to the development site from Smiths Green Lane. It is proposed that land (the “replacement land”) be registered as village green in place of the release land. The release land is described in the First Schedule to this notice, and the replacement land is described in the Second Schedule.

A copy of the application form and accompanying documents can be inspected at Weston Homes, Weston Group Business Centre, Parsonage Rd, Takeley, Bishop's Stortford, CM22 6PU between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00 until 6th November 2024 and online at www.villagegreenexchangetakeley.co.uk. A copy of the application may be obtained by writing to the above address or by emailing villagegreenexchangetakeley@lichfields.uk 

Any representations in respect of the proposed deregistration and exchange should be sent in writing ON or BEFORE that date to: Common Land Team, The Planning Inspectorate, 3A Temple Quay House, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6PN or commonlandcasework@planninginspectorate.gov.uk.

Location: Part of roadside verge on eastern side of Smiths Green Lane at field gate access to Jack’s Field, Takeley, CM22 6NZ. Area: 240sqm

(The replacement land)
