(ENGLAND) ORDER 2015 NOTICE UN DER ARTICLE 8 PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS AND CONSERVATION AREAS) ACT 1990 – SECTION 67
Proposed Development at Hastings Central Library, 13 Claremont, Hastings, East Sussex, TN34 1HE
I give notice that the Mrs Clare Rowsell for Business Services Dept. of East Sussex County Council is seeking Listed Building Consent for additional scaffolding to the turret and to bridge between the two approved towers to allow access to the front of the building at the higher floors. Repair to the stone mullions and cills including removal of the painted finish and stabilisation of the stonework. Repair to stonework columns along the balcony. Repair to brickwork panels along the balcony including loose bricks within the existing lintels. Additional areas of repointing to the front of the building and around the other parts of the tower, not already approved. Repair to crack along the chimney breast/party wall. Reroofing works to the tower. Treatment and minor repairs to corroded steels within the lightwell within the centre of the building.
This development would affect the character and appearance of the following listed building – Hastings Central Library and is in Hastings Town Centre Conservation Area.
Members of the public can view the application on the Hastings Borough Council website, East Sussex County Councils website, or inspect the application, plans and other documents submitted with it by appointment at the offices of the Director, Communities, Economy and Transport Department, East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes until the 25 October 2024.
