Applicant: Norfolk County Council Highways Project Team

Site: Land to the east of West Winch Village, King’s Lynn

Proposal: Development of 3.5km of new single line access road known as the West Winch Housing Access Road (WWHAR), with a new roundabout junction between the WWHAR and the A47 trunk road providing access to the planned Hardwick Green development. Additional works include: a new roundabout junction between the WWHAR and the A10 at the southern end of the WWHAR. Roundabout junctions on the WWHAR to provide access to the residential area; Treatment of local side roads which cross the WWHAR, including roundabout junctions on the WWHAR to provide appropriate connectivity; Local side roads to cross over the proposed WWHAR and the permanent stopping up of Chequers Lane for vehicular traffic; New footway and cycleway along the Hardwick Interchange; Challenging A10 to the north of the existing highway alignment between Gravelhill Lane and the A10/A47 Hardwick Interchange. Associated works and construction including haul routes and the use of National Grid gas main diversion works including construction compounds and temporary access arrangements, the diversion of Hill Road WWA R&NT Construction, hill construction of drainage basins, swales and associated maintenance access roads.
