Royston, Planning Notice
What is planned?
Annex A - FENCING
Form of Notice for advertising your proposals THERFIELD HEATH
The Royston Tennis Club has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Therfield Heath. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State.
The proposed works are resurfacing works to two of the existing tennis courts with tarmacadam which are in need of repair. The resurfacing works are to be permanent.
A temporary access road of approximately 59m in length and 3m in width
will be constructed from the access track off Baldock Road to enable the
materials (tarmacadem) for the tennis courts to be brought from the entrance
of the Therfield Heath on to the tennis courts. The temporary access road
will only be for contractors and will connect the entrance of Therfield Heath
with the entrance to tennis court 4 only. The steel plates for the road will be
2.8m x 1.2m. The road will be enclosed by heras fencing on each side. The
fencing will have no gaps and each panel will be 3.5m in length and 2.2m
height. The heras fencing is proposed to enclose the road so as to ensure the
safety of the public by restricting public access on to the temporary access
road. The heras fencing and access road will be temporary for approximately
3 weeks whilst the resurfacing works are carried out.
A copy of the application form and accompanying documents can be
inspected at Royston Library, Market Hill, Royston, SG8 9JN during normal

accompanying documents may be obtained by writing to Felicity Wimbush at
