THE HAMMERSMITH AND FULHAM (RIVERCOURT ROAD) (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) ORDER 2024
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham made the above-mentioned Order under the powers granted by sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order will come into force on 25th September 2024 and may continue in force for up to 18 months.
2. The general effect of the above-mentioned Order will be to prohibit as an experiment any motor vehicle to proceed in a northbound direction on Rivercourt Road past a point at its junction with the A4, Great West Road and;-.
3. to revoke the one-way northbound traffic flow restriction on Rivercourt Road and to introduce as an experiment a northbound one way restriction on Rivercourt Road between its junction with the A4, Great West Road and a point 8.30 meters south of the southern building wall of No. 17 Rivercourt Road.
4. The controls specified in article 2 would not apply in respect of a vehicle being in any length of the restricted streets -
a. with a valid permit;
b. being a bus, local bus, taxi and pedal cycle;
c. in the pursuance of any statutory duty of the Post Office for the purpose of collecting or delivering letters provided the vehicle bears the Royal Mail livery;
d. in connection with the removal of any obstruction to traffic in the restricted streets;
e. in connection with the maintenance, improvement or reconstruction of any of the restricted street or any street furniture in the restricted street;
f. in connection with the laying, erection, alteration or repair in the restricted street of any sewer or of any main, pipe or apparatus for the supply of gas, water or electricity, or of any telecommunications apparatus as defined in paragraph 1(1) of Schedule 2 of the Telecommunications Act 1984 in any restricted street;
g. if it is being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes
5. For a period of 6 weeks from the day on which the Orders are made, a copy of all Orders and a copy of the Councils statement of reasons for making the Orders and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours by contacting Parking Services, The Place Department, Town Hall, King Street, Hammersmith, W6 9JU or by requesting a copy via email to Traffic.Orders@lbhf.gov.uk
6. The Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Orders should be continued in force indefinitely by means of permanent Orders made under sections 6, 45 and 46 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Any person may object to the making of the permanent Orders within a period of six months beginning with the date on which the experimental Orders come into force or, if the Orders are varied by another Order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the date on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification comes into force. Any such objection must be made in writing and must state the grounds on which it is made and be sent to Parking Services, The Place Department, Town Hall, King Street, Hammersmith, W6 9JU or via email to Traffic. Orders@lbhf.gov.uk.
7. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of the provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
