The Council has received a major planning application ST/0233/24/VC accompanied by an environmental statement for demolition of existing structures and redevelopment to provide 446 new studio, 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5
bedroom homes, flexible community/commercial floorspace (class E/F2) and areas of open space together with the provision of vehicular access from Ellison Street and associated landscaping and parking (Application under Section 73 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 to vary conditions 2, 7, 11, 32 and 40 of previously approved planning application ST/0228/21/FUL and condition 30 of ST/0163/24/NMA - amendments to Blocks F1-F3 including location, access and parking; redesign and external alterations to Blocks A and F1-F3 and removal of block G2; additional 2 houses to block A; relocation of stair core to Block G1/H facilitating additional 4 no. apartments; external amendments including balconies /terraces; sub-division of ground floor unit to Block G1 into 2 units; and internal amendments to Block H to retain overall development at 446 units at Vacant Former Hawthorn Leslie Shipyard and Rathbone Community Industry, Ellison Street, Hebburn, NE31 1YN. The proposed major development does not accord with the provisions of the development plan in force in the area in which the land to which the application relates is situated. The Council has received an application ST/0517/24/HFUL for Replacement of 4 aluminium windows (Each of 3 Panes) and 2 single aluminium patio doors. Replacement of two wood- framed toughened glass panels in Balustrade at south side of balcony with UPVC- Framed, Toughened glass panes with UPVC capping to concrete beam above panels. at 19 Whitburn Hall, Front Street, Whitburn, which affects the setting of the Whitburn Conservation Area. The Council has received an application ST/0510/24/HFUL for Construction of single storey garden room with WC, with flat roof at 8 West Meadows Road, Cleadon, SR6 7TX. As this is a householder application, in the event of an appeal that proceeds by way of the expedited procedure, any representations made will be passed to the Secretary of State and there will be no opportunity to make further representations. The Council has received an application ST/0500/24/VC for Demolish the existing “lean to” garage within Chicks Lane. Retain the existing reinforced concrete ground and first floor structure. Construct walls and structure onto the first floor platform creating a new 1st floor. Providing 4 no. dwellings also creating/erecting a new two storey dwelling abutting the gable of the structure, as well as new two storey structure within Chicks Lane attached to dwelling 4 and 5. Application under Section 73 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 to vary Condition 2 - Approved Plans, Condition 6 - Groundworks Report, Condition 9 - Obscure Glass, Condition 11 - Surface Water Drainage and Condition 12 - Wall Protection of Planning Application ST/0432/23/FUL at 1- 5 Wildflower Lane, North Guards, Whitburn, SR6 7AD which is within the Whitburn Conservation Area.
