What is planned?

Public Consultation on Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s Local Plan: New Evidence Base Documents

To support the emerging Local Plan which has been at Examination since November 2021, the Council has produced new and additional evidence base documents. These include a new Tunbridge Wells Gypsy, Traveller, and Travelling Showpeople Accommodation Needs Assessment 2024-2039, Final Report June 2024 (Version 2), and other documents supporting a revised development strategy for the Local Plan – these include supporting highways, education, infrastructure, and other associated documents.

The Council is now consulting on these documents, which along with a Statement of Representations Procedure, can be viewed via the consultation portalhttps://consult.tunbridgewells.gov.uk/kse/  or on the Council’s website at https://tunbridgewells.gov.uk/planning/planning-policy/local-plan

A paper copy can be made available upon request.

There is a six-week consultation period during which time representations may be made. Representations must be made in writing as set out below and received within the consultation period, which runs from Wednesday 11th of September until Wednesday 23rd of October.

3.By post to Planning Policy, Planning Services, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN1 1RS

Following this consultation the Planning Inspector examining the Local Plan will hold a further Hearing Session on Thursday the 14th November 2024 with a reserve day on Friday the 15th November 2024.

The purpose of the hearing session will be to discuss accommodation for Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling showpeople, and any other matters arising from the public consultation. It will be held in person, at the Town Hall, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN1 1RS and live streamed via the Council’s website – link details will be published at https://tunbridgewells.gov.uk/localplanexamination.
