NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT Essex County Council has received a planning application from R W Mitchell & Sons for the construction of a borrow pit, as an extension to Elmstead Hall Reservoir (currently under construction), to support the A120 / A133 Link Road Scheme at Elmstead Hall, Tye Road, Elmstead, Colchester, Essex - Planning Application Ref: ESS/48/24/TEN
The proposed development may not accord with the provisions of the Essex Minerals Local Plan (2014) and/or the Tendring District Local Plan 2013-2033 and Beyond: Section 1 (2021) and Section 2 (2022) in force in the area which the land to which the application relates is situated. The proposal may affect the setting of a number of nearby heritage assets, including but not limited to Elmstead Hall (Grade II), Church of St Anne and St Lawrence (Grade I), Group of three Tombstones approx. 30m north-east of Chancel (Grade II) and Allen's Farmhouse (Grade II). Footpath 2 (Elmstead) and Restricted Byway 21 (Elmstead) may also be affected. Members of the public may inspect a copy of the application and the documents submitted with it (including the Environmental Statement) online at https://planning.essex.gov.uk. An electronic or paper version of the Environmental Statement is also available to purchase at a cost of £25 for an electronic version on a USB stick or £550 for a paper copy.
