LOCAL PLAN CORE STRATEGY PARTIAL UPDATE

NOTICE OF PUBLIC CONSULTATION

Notice is hereby given that Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council has published a Core Strategy Partial Update consultation draft under the provisions of Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.

The following provides information about the consultation process.

CORE STRATEGY PARTIAL UPDATE

The adopted Core Strategy sets out the Council’s over-arching spatial planning framework for the Borough. The Council has reviewed the Core Strategy and identified those policies which require an update. The Core Strategy Partial Update consultation draft sets out the options the Council has considered to update these policies, gives preferred options and seeks views on these options. The consultation draft also provides the full text of amended policies and seeks views on this wording.

The following documents have been published:

·       Core Strategy Partial Update consultation draft

·       Integrated Impact Assessment (including Sustainability Appraisal)

·       Statement of Representations Procedure

CONSULTATION PERIOD

The Council is seeking representations on the Core Strategy Partial Update consultation draft from Monday 12 August until Monday 30 September 2024. Representations received after this date will not be taken into consideration.

INSPECTION OF DOCUMENTS

The consultation documents can be viewed on the Council’s consultation website at https://rotherham-consult.objective.co.uk/kse

The consultation documents are also available for inspection at the Council’s main office at Riverside House, Main Street, Rotherham S60 1AE during normal opening times.

MAKING REPRESENTATIONS

Representations should be made using the consultation website. This is the Council’s preferred method for receiving representations, as it helps to speed up the management of the process. Alternatively, representations clearly marked ‘Core Strategy consultation’ can be submitted by email to planning.policy@rotherham.gov.uk

Representations may also be submitted in writing on a consultation response form available from Planning Policy to: Core Strategy consultation, Planning Policy, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Planning, Regeneration and Transport, Riverside House, Main Street, Rotherham S60 1AE.

Representations must be received by 5pm on Monday 30 September 2024.

The Council will consider all representations received during the consultation period. The Council will publish a statement which summarises the main issues raised during the consultation period, the Council’s response to these issues, and details of the changes to the Core Strategy Partial Update as a result of comments made.
