What is planned?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
MAIN STREET, HIGH CATTON AND
LOFTHOUSE LANE, LOW CATTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the
entire length of both Main Street, High Catton and
Lofthouse Lane, Low Catton commencing 28 August
2024 until 4 September 2024 for the purposes of
carriageway maintenance works. The road closure is
necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a
manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the
public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is
anticipated that the works will be completed within
eight days. The alternative route for traffic affected by
the road closure will be via High Catton Road, Church
Road, Moor Road, Newbridge Lane, Ling Lane, Storking
Lane, Main Street, A1079 York Road, Long Lane, Catton
CP, Stamford Bridge CP, Full Sutton CP, Wilberfoss CP,
Pocklington Provincial Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic,
but access will be maintained at all times for residents,
emergency services and pedestrians.
