What is planned?

LONDON BOROUGH OF BRENT SECTION 247 TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BRENT (STOPPING UP OF HIGHWAYS) fNO. '1 ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Mayor and Burgesses of the London Borough of Brent propose to make an order under Sections 247, 248 and 253 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 ("The Act") as amended by Section 270 and Schedule 22 of the Greater London Authority Act 1999 to authorise the stopping up of an area of public highway described in Schedule 1 to this notice, to provide for the length of new highway described in Schedule 2 to this notice and to improve the area of highway described in Schedule 3 to this notice.

2. If the order is made, the stopping up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in Schedule 4 to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted under Part III of the Act by the London Borough of Brent as the Local Planning Authority on 4 December 2020 under Application No. 20/0677.

3. A copy of the draft order and of a plan of the relevant area can be inspected and a copy requested free of charge during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the expiration of a period of 28 days from the 1 st August 2024 at Brent Customer Services, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0FJ.

4. Persons desiring to object to the making of the proposed order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof, to the Head of Healthy Streets and Parking, Healthy Streets and Parking Service, 6th Floor West Wing, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0FJ, or via email to trafficorders@brent.gov.uk, quoting the reference TO/23/037/NP , within the period of 28 days from the 1 st August 2024.

5. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.

SCHEDULE 1

The two areas of public highway to be stopped up is shown hatched black on the Deposited Plan and comprises of all-purpose highway, carriageway, footway, highway verge. The first area is irregular shaped bounded by Watford Road to the west, Silver Birch Way to the south and the University of Westminster (Harrow Campus) to the east. The maximum length is 42.80 metres and the maximum width is 45.40 metres. The second area is irregular shaped bounded by Watford Road to the west, Silver Birch Way to the North and Northwick Park Hospital to the east. The maximum length is 162.90 metres and the maximum width is 56.30 metres.

SCHEDULE 2

The area of new public highway to be provided is shown stippled-hatched black on the Deposited Plan and will comprise of all-purpose highway, carriageway, footway, highway verge and be called Silver Birch Way. It is rectangular shaped located to the east of Watford Road heading in an easterly direction connecting to NHS Northwick Park Hospital Ring Road.

SCHEDULE 3

The area of public highway to be improved is shown crossed-hatched black on the Deposited Plan and comprises of all-purpose highway, carriageway, footway, highway verge of Watford Road, A404 starting at a point approximately 115 metres south-east of the southern kerb-line of Kenton Road then in a general south-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 370 metres.

SCHEDULE 4

Full planning permission for junction improvement works to the A404 (Watford Road), and the widening of the existing Northwick Park Hospital spine road to allow two-way traffic; pedestrian and cycle improvements and associated landscaping and public realm works, and associated changes to access, and subject to a Deed of Agreement dated 4 December 2020 under Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, as amended.
