Notice of Submission of the Horsham District
Local Plan 2023-2040
Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004
Regulation 22 of the Town and Country Planning
(Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Regulation 22(3) of the Town and Country Planning (Local
Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, that Horsham District Council submitted the Horsham District Local
Plan to the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government on Friday 26
July 2024 for independent examination.
The Local Plan Submission documents and supporting evidence documents can be viewed on the council’s
website at: www.horsham.gov.uk/planning/local-plan/local-plan-examination
Documents can also be viewed at Horsham District Council main office during their standard opening hours,
at the following address: Parkside, Chart Way, Horsham, West Sussex RH12 1RL.
The submitted documents include:
• Submission Horsham District Local Plan 2023-2040
• Sustainability Appraisal/Strategic Environmental Assessment documents
• Submission Policies Map
• Habitat Regulations Assessment documents
• Consultation Statement and Appendices (regulation 22(1)(c))
• All representations made in accordance with regulation 20
• A number of other supporting documents relevant to the plan preparation
The Horsham District Local Plan will now be subject to an independent examination to be conducted by the
Planning Inspectorate. This is a continuous process running from the date of submission through to receipt
of the appointed Planning Inspector’s Report. Once confirmed, all details relating to the examination process
will be advertised, made available online and sent to all respondents.
To assist the Planning Inspector through the examination, an independent Programme Officer, Kerry Trueman,
has been appointed and will be assisted by Ian Bussey. The Programme Officer has principal responsibility
for procedural matters during the examination and all future correspondence with Local Plan respondents
will be undertaken by her via the contact details below:

Those who made representations at the Regulation 19 stage will, if the Inspector deems it appropriate,
be offered the opportunity to submit further material or take part in specific Hearing Sessions and will be
