NOTICE OF PUBLIC EXHIBITION OF PROPOSAL FOR A NEW SAND AND GRAVEL QUARRY WITH RESTORATION
TO BIODIVERSITY AND FLOOD STORAGE ON 70 ACRES OF AGRICULTURAL LAND LYING SOUTH OF LEATHERSLEY LANE, WEST OF SCROPTON.
Members of the public are invited to a public exhibition of Heidelberg Materials UK development proposals prior to the submission of a planning application to Derbyshire County Council.
The proposals include: a 10 year scheme for phased mineral extraction and restoration; a new site access with right turning lane; low level processing plant; HGV routeing direct to the A515; landscaping and screening; restoration to wetland, reedbeds, meadows and flood storage; planting of over 10,000 trees; new permissive footpaths; and, long term aftercare.
The exhibition is being held at Foston and Scropton Community Hall, Scropton Road, Scropton. DE65 5PS.
Friday 5th July 12-7pm, Saturday 6th July 10am-3pm.
