What is planned?

READING BOROUGH COUNCIL

(RADSTOCK ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024

Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1 )(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily:

  • Suspend the one-way restriction and close Radstock Road at its junction with Manchester Road and Liverpool Road.
  • Suspend the parking bays and impose a no waiting and/or loading at any time restriction outside numbers 70-90 and 75-93 Radstock Road.

If made, the Order will come into force on 25 July 2024 only from 09:30-15:30 hours. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary to allow works to replace a pole. A signed diversion route will be in place throughout.

(MITCHAM CLOSE) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024

Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1 )(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily impose a no waiting and/ or loading at any time restriction and suspend:

  • Three parking bays outside 31 Milman Road.
  • Two parking bays at the side of 27b Milman Road along Mitcham Close.
  • Three parking bays outside 50 Milman Road (Doctors Surgery).
  • Five parking bays outside 40-34 Milman Road.

If made, the Order will come into force from 22 July-12 August 2024. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary to facilitate sewer repairs to the collapsing pipework.

(PROSPECT STREET) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024

Reading Borough Council intend to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1 )(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily introduce the following restrictions:

  • close Prospect Street at its junction with Oxford Road to all vehicular traffic.
  • suspend the loading bay between 183 to 183a Oxford Road and introduce a no waiting and no loading at any time restriction.
  • suspend the length of the bus/taxi/cycle lane on Oxford Road junction with Bedford Road.

If made, the Order will come into force on 12 July - 31 August 2024. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months unless extended by the Secretary of State. The Order is necessary to carry out the removal of the speed ramp and installation of traffic islands.

(WHITLEY WOOD LANE) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily close that length of Whitley Wood Lane for approximately 10 metres at each side of number 198A. If made, the Order will come into force from 22-26 July 2024. Should the works take longer than expected the closure will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary to facilitate the installation of high voltage cable. A signed diversion route will be in place throughout.
