What is planned?

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 AN D WILD LI FE AN D COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (BRIDLEWAY NO 410099 PARISH OF HAILE AND WILTON) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2024

The above named Order made on 18 June 2024 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 will divert the whole width of that length of public bridleway no 410099 in the parish of Haile and Wilton from grid reference 304858 512358 northeastwards for about 119 metres to grid reference 304960 512414; to run from grid reference 304858 512358 eastwards and northeastwards for about 126 metres along track to grid reference 304962 512407 at junction with BW 410019. The width of the new path will be between 3 and 4 metres: and the whole width of that length of public bridleway no 410099 in the parish of Haile and Wilton from grid reference 305250 512501 northeastwards for about 85 metres to grid reference 305313 512558; to run from grid reference 305250 512501 north-northeastwards for about 90 metres to grid reference 305313 512558. The width of the new path will be 3 metres.

A copy of the Order and map may be inspected free of charge at Egremont Library, 65 Main Street, Egremont and the offices of the Countryside Access Team, The Parkhouse Building, Kingmoor Business Park, Carlisle CA6 4SJ by appointment only (ref 5.1.513). Details of the Order are available to view on the Council's website and copies of the Order may be purchased at a cost of £2 per A4 sheet and £3 per A3 sheet. Alternatively contact countryside.access@cumberland.gov.uk for further information. Any supporting statements or objections with respect to the Order can be sent in writing to the Countryside Access Team, (by post or email as addresses above) to be received not later than 24 July 2024 and should state the grounds on which they are made. If no objections are duly made or if any so made are withdrawn the Cumberland Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State any objections which have not been withdrawn will be submitted with the Order.
