NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Wigan Roads) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No. 185) Order 2024 The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
• Gidlow Lane Wigan – East side from a point 20 metres north of its junction with Kearsley Street to a point 12 metres south of its junction with Kearsley Street.
• Gidlow Lane Wigan – east side from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Scott Street to a point 5 metres south of its junction with Scott Street.
• Gidlow Lane Wigan – east side from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Land Street to a point 5 metres south of its junction with Land Street.
• Kearsley Street Wigan – both sides from its junction with Gidlow Lane to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Gidlow Lane.
• Scott Street Wigan – both sides from its junction with Gidlow Lane to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Gidlow Lane.
• Land Street Wigan – both sides from its junction with Gidlow Lane to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Gidlow Lane.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no loading at any time on:
• Gidlow Lane Wigan – East side from a point 20 metres north of its junction with Kearsley Street to a point 12 metres south of its junction with Kearsley Street.
• Gidlow Lane Wigan – east side from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Scott Street to a point 5 metres south of its junction with Scott Street.
• Gidlow Lane Wigan – east side from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Land Street to a point 5 metres south of its junction with Land Street.
• Kearsley Street Wigan – both sides from its junction with Gidlow Lane to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Gidlow Lane.
• Scott Street Wigan – both sides from its junction with Gidlow Lane to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Gidlow Lane.
• Land Street Wigan – both sides from its junction with Gidlow Lane to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Gidlow Lane.
There will be limited exceptions permitting removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and if the vehicles are fire service, police vehicles or ambulances.
The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.
A copy of the proposed Order, the Order to be amended, and of the relevant map and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be requested by emailing d.rumsey@wigan.gov.uk.
Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director – Legal, Governance and Elections, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan or by emailing the above email address quoting reference RD/LS/DC/C108/997 not later than 23/07/2024.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
• Holden Walk Douglas – both sides from its junction with Billinge Road to a point 10 metres south of its junction with Billinge Road.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no loading at any time on:
• Holden Walk Douglas – both sides from its junction with Billinge Road to a point 10 metres south of its junction with Billinge Road.
• Billinge Road Douglas – south side from a point 15 metres west of its junction with Holden Walk to a point 15 metres east of its junction with Holden Walk.
There will be limited exceptions the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority and Water Companies, if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral.
The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.

(Wigan Road Shevington) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice Of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by
Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Wigan Road Shevington) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Wigan Road Shevington during the period of 21:00 and 05:00 commencing on 18/07/2024 to 19/07/2024.
The alternative route for traffic is: B5375 Wigan Lower Road, B5375 Woodhouse Drive, Beech Hill Avenue, Spencer Road West, Spencer Road, A49 Wigan Lane, A49 Wigan Road, High Street, A5209 School Lane, A5029 Almond Brook Road, B5206
Shevington Lane, B5206 Broad O Th Lane, B5206 Gathurst Lane, B5206 Gathurst Road, Spring Road, Prescott Lane, Eccles Road, Kitt Green Road, Marsh Green and Scot Lane.
The Order is necessary to allow lining works to sewer.
