What is planned?

LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS TOWN & COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 MAJOR APPLICATIONS UNDER ARTICLE 15(4)) OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT PROCEDURE) ORDER 2015 AND OTHER SIGNIFICANT APPLICATIONS.

Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Tower Hamlets is considering the following applications:

Docklands Carpark, Billingsgate Market, Trafalgar Way, London, E14 5ST PA/24/00814 Temporary change of use of a section of the Billingsgate Market carpark (known as the Docklands carpark) for open air storage and associated works. 5 Park Drive, London, E14 9GG PA/24/00818 Retrospective application to ground floor unit for outdoor seating area comprising tables and chairs, serving stations and planters with integral screens to ground floor .

Orchard Wharf, Orchard Place, London, E14 PA/24/00812 Full phased planning application for redevelopment of the site following demolition of all existing buildings and structures and enabling works to provide a mixed-use development consisting of basement excavation, and the erection of new buildings connected to or situated above a safeguarded wharf box which would deliver:

i. Purpose Built Student Accommodation (Sui Generis) and ancillary accommodation;

ii. Residential dwellings (Use Class C3) and ancillary accommodation;

iii. General Industrial/Storage or Distribution floorspace (Use Classes BB8/E(g)(iii)) and ancillary accommodation within the safeguarded wharf box;

iv. External infrastructure and all other related works (including marine works) for waterborne freight handling; and

v. Flexible commercial (Use Class E) and community floorspace (Use Class F).

Other associated works to include the provision of hard and soft landscaping; private internal and external amenity space; vehicular access and servicing facilities; provision of car parking and cycle parking; plant and other associated works incidental to the proposals including works to the River Wall.

This application is accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment.
