What is planned?

THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT) REGULATIONS 2017, PART 5, REGULATION 20 ‘PUBLICITY WHERE AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT IS SUBMITTED AFTER THE PLANNING APPLICATION’ NOTICE

Site address: Land at Gorton Street and Adjacent Railway Arches, Gorton Street, Greengate, Salford

This notice is to advise that an Environmental Statement (ES) has been submitted with respect to the planning application submitted by the Applicant (PL North Bridge Ltd) for the ‘Gorton Street’ scheme - Detailed planning application for the demolition of existing lean-to building adjacent to railway arches 6-8 and Erection of a 42-storey building, plus basement and rooftop plant levels, comprising 568 co-living units with associated amenity, management and back of house space, plant rooms, accessible roof terraces, with ancillary facilities comprising sporting facilities and waste storage in arches 1-3, and associated landscaping and engineering works.

The application was made on 24/08/2023 to Salford County Council (SCC) (Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5AW).

The following information prepared by Temple Group has now been provided by the Applicant and is subject to consultation:

•Environmental Statement Volume 1: Non-Technical Summary;
•Environmental Statement Volume 2: Main Text;
•Environmental Statement Volume 3: Townscape and Visual Impact Assessment; and
•Environmental Statement Volume 4: Technical Appendices.

Copies of this information will be available to view from the week commencing 10th June 2024 on Salford City Council’s planning portal, which is accessible at https://salfordcitycouncil.my.site.com/ pr/s/register-view?c__r=Arcus_BE_Public_Register, under Ref: 23/82208/FUL. Alternatively, it can be viewed at all reasonable hours at Swinton Civic Centre (Planning Department), Chorley Road, Swinton, Manchester, M27 5DA.

Members of the public may obtain copies of the Environmental Statement (ES) and / or the Non- Technical Summary from Temple Group Ltd, via email hello@templegroup.co.uk or Temple Group Ltd, Express Building, 9 Great Ancoats Street, Manchester, M4 5AD. Hard copies of the full ES (chapters and figures) and the technical appendices can be purchased at a cost of £350 each. Hard copies of the non-technical summary can be obtained for £40. Electronic copies of the full ES can be obtained on a memory stick for £30.

The latest date on which electronic and hard copies of the ES will be available for inspection (being a date no less than 30 days later than the date on which the ES is submitted) is 06/07/2024.
