NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

The Oxfordshire County Council, Barford St. John & St. Michael Footpath No. 22 (part), Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2023

On 20th May 2024, the Oxfordshire County Council confirmed the above Order under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by diverting:-

Barford St. John & St. Michael FP22 running from Barford Road at OS Grid Ref SP 4221 3245 south-westwards for 434m to SP 4182 3228 to a new line running from Barford Road at OS Grid Ref SP 4223 3243 westwards for 174m to SP 4205 3241, south-westwards for 228m to SP 4188 3227 and westwards for approximately 64m to SP 4182 3228, as shown on the Order map. The Order came into force on the date of confirmation but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 (the Act), as amended, and/or the powers of section 53A of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (WCA) or on the ground that any requirement of either Act or of any regulation made under them has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act and as applied by s53A(7) WCA, within six weeks from 06 June 2024 make an application to the High Court.
