What is planned?
WATFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT) (ENGLAND) ORDER 2015 AS AMENDED DIRECTION MODIFIED BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE UNDER ARTICLE 4(1) OF THE ORDER
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has requested a modification to an Article 4 Direction that was issued and confirmed by Watford Borough Council in November 2023. The Direction covers properties and land within the area known as 'Clarendon Road Primary Office Location'. This modification has amended the boundary of the confirmed Direction to that which is highlighted in green below.
Within the highlighted area, the following permitted development rights, as conferred by the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015, as amended, are withdrawn: Class MA relating to Class E(g)(i) (offices) of the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987.
The Direction prevents the change of an E(g)(i) office use to a use falling within Class C3 (dwellinghouses) without requiring planning permission.
Any building that remains within the modified boundary (Green area) continue to have Class MA permitted development rights removed. Any buildings that are now excluded from the modified boundary of the Direction, no longer have Class MA permitted development rights removed. A copy of the modification, including a map defining the area now covered, can be viewed at the Customer Service Centre, Watford Borough Council, Town Hall, Watford WD17 3EX.
