Consultation – Hawick 132kv Project

Development: A new 132kv overhead line approximately 0.4km in length is required to connect the existing wood pole (CY Route) to the existing steel tower line (V Route). In addition to this, another new 132kv overhead line approximately 1.3km in length is also required, this will connect the existing Hawick Substation the steel tower line (V Route). Both new overhead lines will be constructed using the trident ‘H’ wood pole design.

The consultation will start on 20/05/2024 and close on 19/06/2024.

SP Transmission (SPT) is a subsidiary of SP Energy Networks and is the license holder responsible for the transmission of electricity in central and southern Scotland. SPT is consulting on proposals to upgrade transmission infrastructure in the Hawick area.  The project team are now consulting on the preferred routes for the two new sections of overhead line.
