What is planned?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) C12 (Part), Bishopstone; from its junction with C63 to its junction with C320 to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing and associated works. Alternative route via C12 (unaffected length) - C64 - A30 - A36 - A3094 - C320 - C12 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 06 June 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 for 1 day. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: B) Bulbridge Road (Part), Wilton; from its junction with South Street to its junction with St Michaels Close to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out footway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via Bulbridge Road (unaffected length) - South Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 May 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 18:00 until 20 May 2024. C) C63 (Part), Bishopstone and Wilton; from its junction with C12 to its junction with Home Farm Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun and associated works. Alternative route via C63 (unaffected length) - A30 - A36 -A3094 - C320 - C12 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 May 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 for 5 days. D) Berry Wood Lane (Part), Donhead St Mary; from its junction with C62 to its property known as Oak Cottage to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out new connection and associated works. Alternative route via Berry Wood Lane (unaffected length) - Junction with Berry Wood Lane Donhead St Andrew West to Britmore Lane Gutch Common - C62 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 May 2024 and the closure will be required for 24 hours a day for 3 days. For further information please contact 1st Choice on behalf of Scottish and Southern Power Distribution on 0345 241 0261. Orders A) to D) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

2. THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (C291 ELSTON LANE, ORCHESTON AND SHREWTON) (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to revoke The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Orcheston and Shrewton) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 2018 and re-enact it, in part, in the above Order 2 and to introduce a 20mph speed limit on C291 Elston Lane, Orcheston - from a point 260 metres east of its junction with Whatcombe Brow to a point 200 metres west of that junction; UC 54401, Orcheston - from its junction with Elston Lane for a distance of 200 metres in a southerly direction; UC 54402 Whatcombe Brow, Orcheston - from its junction with Elston Lane in a northerly direction to a point outside property known as 'Threepenny Bit'. Copies of the draft Orders, plans and Statement of the Council's Reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours. Details of the proposed scheme may be seen at Netheravon Library, High Street SP4 9PJ between the hours of 1pm and 5pm Monday and Thursday until 3 June 2024.
