What is planned?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that applications have been made to the BOROUGH COUNCIL of NEWCASTLE-UNDER-LYME for planning permission for the development set out below: -
Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990
Development affecting a Conservation Area /Listed Building
1. Application for residential development (42 dwellings) within Use Class C3, formation of amenity space, hard and soft landscaping works, provision of access and associated engineering work at Land at St Lukes Close, Silverdale, Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 6JS by Aspire Housing. File ref. 24/00231/FUL. (Application for major development adjacent to Silverdale Conservation Area)
2. Change of use from Day Nursery to Independent School (part of the current neighbouring Demetae Academy) at 17 King Street, Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 1JF by Demetae Academy. File ref: 24/00200/ FUL (Site is within The Brampton Conservation Area)
3. Replacement of existing stepped access to existing fire escape door with proposed ramped & stepped access to the north elevation of the Grade: II Listed Chapel; as well as proposed external landscaping works within the same scheme: including a retaining wall & ‘dug out’ seating area, other above ground seating areas, drainage improvements to lawn, permeable paths and soft landscaping at The Chapel, Keele University, Three Mile Lane, Keele by Keele University. 2. Detailed (full) planning permission for the erection of 39 dwellings within Use Class C3, formation of open space, hard and soft landscaping, provision of access and associated engineering work at land at Cross Street, Chesterton, Newcastle-under-Lyme ST5 7HF by Durata Development Ltd. File Ref 24/00137/FUL. (Application for Major Development)
During the period of 21 days beginning with the date of the publication of this Notice the Planning Authority provides the facility to inspect the application plans and documents on line at www.newcastle-staffs.gov.uk by following the link to Planning and Public Access
Any person who wishes to make representations to the above mentioned Council should make them in writing within that period to the Development Control Manager, Regeneration and Development Services Castle House Barracks Road Newcastle-under-Lyme ST5 1BL or e-mail to planningapplications@newcastle-staffs.gov.uk
Please bear in mind that any comments and the name and address of the persons making the comments will be open to inspection by, and may be copied to, other parties as they form part of the statutory register for applications and will be displayed on the Councils website. Personal data, such as signatures, email address and telephone numbers will be removed.
However, the names and addresses of those people who comment on the application are required and will be published. Please note that anonymous comments cannot be taken into consideration.
