What is planned?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(ROAD MARKING INSTALL WORKS, WORKSOP)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (BS24-115)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Worksop in the District of Bassetlaw.

The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road: -
a. B6045 Blyth Road – from its junction with Thievesdale Lane to its junction with B6045 Briber Hill
b. B6045 Briber Hill – from its junction with B6045 Blyth Road to its junction with B6045 Worksop Road.
c. B6045 Worksop Road -from its junction with B6045 Briber Hill to its junction with A634 High Street.

2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

From 20:00 hours on Tuesday 28th May 2024
Until 04:00 hours on Saturday 1st June 2024

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

A634 High Street – A634 Sheffield Road – A634 Blyth Road – A60 Doncaster Road – A60 High Road – A60 Carlton Road – B6041 Thievesdale Lane – B6041 Farmers Branch – B6045 Blyth Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into force on Tuesday 28th May 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands to carry out large scale patching repairs;
