What is planned?

TUNBRIDGE WELLS BOROUGH LOCAL PLAN NOTICE OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINATION UNDER REGULATION 24 OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (LOCAL PLANNING) (ENGLAND) REGULATIONS 2012

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council submitted its Local Plan for independent Examination on 1 November 2021.

The Secretary of State appointed Matthew Birkinshaw BA(Hons) MSc MRTPI to undertake an independent Examination of the Plan and subsequently issue a report with his conclusions. Examination hearing sessions were held in the spring and summer of 2022, and Mr Birkinshaw issued his initial findings in November 2022.

Following a public consultation carried out between 15 January 2024 and 12 April 2024 on the Council’s response to the initial findings, as part of the Examination process, Stage 3 hearings sessions will be held as follows:

Tuesday 16 July 2024, 10:00am

Wednesday 17 July 2024, 9:30am

Thursday 18 July 2024, 9:30am (Reserve)

Friday 19 July 2024, 9:30am (Reserve)

Wednesday 24 July 2024, 9:30am (Reserve)

Hearing arrangements: Hearing sessions are expected to be held physically at the Town Hall, Mount Pleasant Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN1 1RS and live streamed via the Council’s website – link details will be published at https://tunbridgewells.gov.uk/localplanexamination.
