PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS AND CONSERVATION AREAS) ACT 1990 SECTIONS 69 & 70
DESIGNATION OF THE WEST CHILTINGTON LANES CONSERVATION AREA (WEST CHILTINGTON)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 25 January 2024, Horsham District Council, under powers conferred on them by Section 69 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990, as amended, has determined to designate a new Conservation Area to be called the West Chiltington Lanes Conservation Area.
The proposed conservation area would encompass Spinney Lane, Sunset Lane, Heather Lane, Westward Lane, Monkmead Lane, Common Hill, Roundabout Lane, Ling Common Place, Grove Lane, Bower Lane, Silver Glade, Birch Tree Lane, Fir Tree Lane and Threals Lane in West Chiltington.
The effect of conservation area designation is to increase controls over the demolition and alteration of buildings, and work to trees, and to assist the local planning authority in preserving or enhancing the special architectural or historic interest of the area through the assessment of applications for development and through other enhancement works.
Maps showing the boundary of the conservation area noted above may be inspected at Horsham District Council reception, Parkside, Chart Way, Horsham RH12 1RL during office hours, or viewed via the Horsham District Council website: https://www.horsham.gov.uk/planning/conservation-areas/maps-and-character-statements.
