What is planned?

Notice of Pre-Application Consultation under Regulation 7(2)(b) of the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2013
as amended by the Town and Country Planning (Pre-Application Consultation) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2021.

Lansdowne Investments Limited (“the Applicant”) hereby gives notice of the first pre-application consultation event to be held in relation to the following proposed development at Land 90m South West of Asda Petrol Filling Station, Loanhead. ‘Mixed use development including Class 1A (shops, financial, professional and other services), Class 11 (assembly and leisure), and Class 4 (business), and associated infrastructure, car parking, servicing, access arrangements and landscaping’.

In advance of submitting an application for planning permission, the first drop-in consultation event will take place on: Monday 25th March 2024 from 3pm to 8pm at Loanhead Leisure Centre, George Avenue, Midlothian, EH20 9LA.

The event will provide information on the proposed development and the Project Team will be in attendance to discuss and answer any questions. A project website is available at www.asdaretailparcstraiton.co.uk where up to date information can be found.

Persons wishing to make comments on the proposals may do so at the above event, via the website, in writing to David Marwick at Calton Planning + Development, 15 Calton Road, Edinburgh, EH8 8DL, or via email david@caltonplanning.co.uk by Monday 08th April 2024.

Further public consultation will be held and advertised in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Pre-Application Consultation) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2021.

This will provide feedback to members of the public in respect of comments received by the prospective applicant as regards the proposed development.

This notice does not relate to a planning application and comments should not be made to Midlothian Council. Any comments made to the Applicant are not representations to the Planning Authority. If a planning application is subsequently submitted by the Applicant to Midlothian Council, normal neighbour notification and publicity will be undertaken, and you will have the opportunity to make formal representations regarding the proposal at that time.
