Corby to Eaton Socon - Rewiring of Electric Cable
What is planned?
National Grid Electricity Distribution
The Electricity (Applications for Consent) Regulations 1990: Regulation 5 – Publication of Notice of Application for Consent under Section 37 of the Electricity Act 1989.
Proposal is to re-wire approximately 1.2km of conductor between towers PFZ53 and PFZ57 along the Corby to Eaton Socon 132kV Overhead Line route in Thrapston, Northamptonshire (nearest postcode: NN14 4PP; NGR: TL 0045 80065).
Notice is hereby given that on the 7th March 2024, National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) made an application under Section 37 of the Electricity Act 1989 for the consent of the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero to re-wire approximately 1.2km of conductor between towers PFZ53 and PFZ57 in this location. The proposed development is required as part of refurbishment works required to the wider line.

On or before the 18th April 2024 identifying the name of the overhead line and the grounds for objection.
Any such objections or representations will be copied to the relevant planning authorities and the applicant unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not be copied. If there is such a request, then the relevant planning authorities and the applicant will be informed that an objection has been made but no details will be forwarded to them.
