NOTICE OF CONFIMRATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257

AND PARAGRAPH 7 OF SCHEDULE 14

WEST NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL

PUBLIC FOOTPATH KN6 (PART) – 

(IN THE PARISH OF HARDINGSTONE NORTHAMPTON) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2023

On the 8th of February 2024 West Northamptonshire Council confirmed the above Order without modification. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert part of Public Footpath KN6 in the Parish of Hardingstone from a line commencing at point A on the Order map at National grid Reference (NGR) SP 77351 57025 and extends approximately 67 metres in a northerly direction adjacent to Pagnell Court along a wooded way to point B on the Order map at NGR SP 77356 57092. It then travels approximately 45 metres in an easterly direction to point C on the Order map at NGR SP 77401 57088 where it then changes direction to travel in a north-westerly direction for approximately 69 metres across woods/scrubland to point D on the Order map at NGR SP 77357 57141. The route then continues in a north-westerly direction for some 207 metres across scrubland/fields to point E on the Order map at NGR SP 77224 57298. The route then travels directly north west for approximately 59 metres crossing Landimore Road to point F on the Order map at NGR SP 77185 57342. The route then continues in a north westerly direction approximately 214 metres to Point G on the Order map at NGR SP 77026 57485 to a line running from point L on the Order map NGR SP 77344 57025 where it then extends in a generally northerly direction adjacent to Pagnell Court for approximately 68 metres to point M on the Order map at NGR SP 77350 57093. It then continues in a northerly direction to meet the existing point D on the Order map at NGR SP 77357 57141 where it then continues in a curving manner in a generally north-easterly direction and then travels in a generally north-westerly direction to point N on the Order map at NGR SP 77368 57200 approximately 175 metres in total. The proposed new route then extends in a northerly direction for approximately 11 metres crossing a new road to point O on the Order map at NGR SP 77364 57210. It then continues following the footway alongside the new street to be constructed, curving in a north-westerly direction for approximately 127 metres to point P on the Order map at NGR SP 77324 57326 where it becomes a road crossing for some 5 metres. It then continues to point Q on the Order map at NGR SP 77320 57329 and continues for approximately 105 metres in a westerly direction along the newly constructed footway to point R on the Order map at NGR SP 77218 57340 where it then travels in a southerly direction for approximately 21 metres to meet the existing road crossing on Landimore Road at point S on the Order map at NGR SP 77212 57320. It then extends approximately some 17 metres west across Landimore Road to point T on the Order map at NGR SP 77195 57318. The route then diverges north for approximately 38 metres to point U on the Order map at NGR SP 77192 57355 and continues alongside the highway where it then changes direction and travels in a westerly direction for approximately 7 metres to point V on the Order map at NGR SP 77185 57355. The proposed new route then follows the newly constructed street for approximately 205 metres travelling in a north-westerly direction to meet the existing route at point G on the Order map at NGR 77026 57485, where it then continues along the existing alignment of Public Footpath KN6 as shown on the Order map.

A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of the Executive Director of Pathfinder Legal Services, One Angel Square, Angel Street, Northampton, NN1 1ED between the hours of 9am and 12 noon and 2pm and 4pm Monday to Friday inclusive. Copies of the Order and map may be bought from the Head of Property & Planning, Pathfinder Legal Services Limited at the price of £5.00 + VAT.

The Order comes into force on the date the West Northamptonshire Council certify that the terms of Article 4 have been complied with but if any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity or that of any provisions contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of schedule 14 to that Act.
