The Council has received the following planning application which would affect the setting of a Listed Building, is located in a Conservation Area and is accompanied by an Environmental Statement. Conservation Area: Wigan Pier Conservation Area Application No: A/23/95983/MAJES

Development at: Eckersley Mill Complex Swan Meadow Road Wigan

For Planning Permission: Hybrid Planning Application comprising: Full planning application for the demolition of Mill 2, Former Workers Welfare Building, Former Reeling Room, Mill 1 Weaving Sheds and Swan Meadow Industrial Estate; change of use to Class E (Commercial, Business and Service) and roller rink (Sui Generis) including repair, external works and alterations, replacement windows, additional windows and door openings, partial demolition, aluminium structure to chimney, rebuild with increased roof height, terrace and extension at Former New Reeling Block, Former Winding Block, Offices and Gatehouse.

Outline planning application for the erection of 5 blocks (A, B, C, D and Senior

Living Block) ranging in height between 4-6 storeys to include 817 residential units (Class C3); a hotel of up to 5 storeys and comprising 120 bedrooms (Class C1); commercial floor space (Class E) at ground floor in Block B; associated car parking (including a multi storey car park); with associated access, servicing and public realm, seeking approval for means of access, landscaping, layout and scale, with appearance reserved
