SECTION 247

LAND WEST OF NORTHCOTE ROAD

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF WANDSWORTH hereby gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under Section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 to authorise the stopping up of the highway described in the First Schedule.

IF THE ORDER IS MADE, the stopping-up will be authorised to enable the development described in the Second Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted under Part III of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 by the London Borough of Wandsworth on 26 June 2019 under local planning authority reference 2018/5833.

COPIES OF THE DRAFT ORDER AND RELEVANT PLAN MAY BE INSPECTED FREE OF CHARGE between 09:00 and 17:00 during a period of 28 days commencing on Thursday 1 February 2024 at the Planning and Development offices at Wandsworth Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, SW18 2PU, or by visiting the Council's website at https://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/road-safety/traffic-management-orders-tmos/.

ANY PERSON MAY OBJECT to the making of the proposed Order by writing to the Director of Environment and Community Services, London Borough of Wandsworth, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, SW18 2PU quoting reference 2018/5833. Any objection must be received by Thursday 29 February 2024. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.

THE FIRST SCHEDULE

Areas of Highway to be Stopped Up

The land outlined in black and hatched in black and white on the plan attached with the draft order, which is 47.94 square metres, measing 28.2m east to west from the western edge of the footway on Northcote Road, and 1.7m north to south from the southern wall of Northcote Library.

THE SECOND SCHEDULE

The Location

Staplehurst Court, east of Chatham Hall, 152 Northcote Road, London SW11 6RD and the end of Rainham Close, south-west of Chatham Hall

The Development

The demolition of the two storey library, the single storey plus two storey roof Chatham Hall and the 8 vehicular garages (single storey) and the erection of a four storey building plus the excavation of a basement at the existing library site comprising two commercial units (Use Class A1) split over basement and ground floor levels (approximately 388sq.m) and nine (9) residential units at upper floor levels; the erection of a part one/two/three storey library (Use Class D1) (approximately 848sq.m) fronting onto Northcote Road; the erection of a part two/ three storey building behind the proposed library comprising a community hall (Use Class D1) at ground floor (approximately 301 sq.m) and seven (7) residential flats at upper floor levels; 2 car parking spaces and 20 cycle parking spaces; and associated landscaping and infrastructure works.
