Cannock Chase Local Plan 2018-2040

Pre-Submission consultation

Cannock Chase Council has published the final version of the new Local Plan in accordance with Regulation 19 of the Town and Country (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012. The Local Plan sets out local planning policies and site allocations to guide development in the District over the plan period to year 2040 and is intended to replace the existing Cannock Chase Local Plan (Part 1) 2014 upon adoption by the Council.

The Council invites representations on the Local Plan. At this stage of consultation, the Council is seeking views as to whether the Local Plan is legally compliant and meets the tests of ‘soundness’ as set out in the National Planning Policy Framework. These terms are explained on the Council’s website, and copies of the Local Plan, guidance on how to make representations will be made available at the following venues during their opening hours: Cannock Chase Civic Centre, Cannock Library, Burntwood Library, Brereton Library, Heath Hayes Library, Hednesford Library, Norton Canes Library, Rugeley Library. The Council are finalising a series of consultation events around the District which will be advertised soon.

The consultation runs from 5 February 2024 until 5pm on Monday 18 th March 2024. You can view all documents and find further information on how to respond to the consultation on the Council’s website at: https://www.cannockchasedc.gov.uk/ residents/planning-and-building-control/planning-policy.
