What is planned?

The Town & Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2013 (as amended).

Application No: 23/03625/PAN.
A Proposal of Application Notice has been submitted by Forsa Energy Gas Holdings Ltd to Fife Council to construct a Battery Energy Storage System to provide electricity to the National Grid. The site is located at Duniface Farm, Leven, Fife KY8 5RH, near the approved gas peaking plant site.

The proposal comprises a series of modular battery storage units of around 3m in height, transformers, cooling units and two control units. The majority of the site will be screened from view by a 4m high wooden fence . Access will be by the existing access road to the gas peaking plant.The public consultation will be held at the Caledonian Hotel, 81 High Street, Leven KY8 4NG, on Friday 9th February 2024, between the hours of 3pm to 7pm, where representatives of the Company will explain the proposal. A further public consultation will take place on Wednesday 28th February at the same location and at the same time.
