NOTICE 1B GS TRO7719 (Various Streets in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO.1) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that Cheshire West and Chester Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic during preparation works for, and the surface treatment works programme from the 29th January 2024 for a maximum of 18 months with the expectation that the works are anticipated to finish by October 2024.
It is anticipated that all roads in the below schedule will be closed for an estimated maximum of 14 days within the road closure notice period; the closure may be on consecutive days or on separate days depending upon site, weather conditions and works required.
Advanced Warning signs will be placed on site at least 5 days before the planned commencement of the works. Works will take place 7 days a week.
Schedule of affected roads:
- A540 Chester High Road - between A550 and Dunston Lane - Diversion Route: A540 to Hoylake, Birkenhead Road, Hoylake Rd, Fender Lane, Hoylake Rd, Laird St, Park Rd North, A5029, A554 Canning St, New Chester Rd, Rock Ferry Bypass, A41 New Chester Rd, A550 Welsh Rd, Two Mills, A540 Chester High Rd.
- C229 Ledsham Lane, Ledsham - between Ledsham Village and A550 Welsh Road.
- UX947 Penfold Way, Doddleston - between Church Road to end (full extent).
- UV 1332 Park Drive, Ellesmere Port - full extent.
- UV1630 Ashwood Lane, Wervin - between Picton to Wervin Rd (full extent).
- UV2409 Darlington Crescent, Saughall - full extent.
Alternative Routes for through traffic: Alternative routes will be provided for vehicles as per the signed diversion on site. Information is also shown on the website 'One.Network' which informs of road closures and diversion routes.
Exemptions are provided in the order for any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes and also vehicles associated with the works and where possible for any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons, goods or merchandise to or from any premises situated on or adjacent to the lengths of road affected.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING TRO7721 - Northgate Street in Chester
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit of waiting and loading on the following length of road in Chester to enable developer work, works to be carried out by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
Northgate Street, Chester - north-east side from a point 45 metres north-west of the centre line of Hunter Street for a distance of 21 metres in a north-westerly direction for the duration of the works.
The Order will come into force on 22nd January 2024 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 15 days to complete.
