What is planned?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (FORDFIELD ROAD, MILLBROOK AND STEPPINGLEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Fordfield Road, Millbrook and Steppingley.

This temporary closure is required to enable footway and kerbing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 5 February to 5 April 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A507, High Street, A5120, Steppingley Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 5 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (SALFORD ROAD, HULCOTE AND SALFORD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Salford Road, Hulcote and Salford between Broughton Road and A421 Slip Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway resurfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 1 to 12 February 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A421, Newport Road, Countess Way, Fen Street, Salford Road, Broughton Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 1 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (WEST HILL, ASPLEY GUISE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of West Hill, Aspley Guise between Wood Lane and Woburn Lane.

This temporary closure is required for gully cleansing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 22 to 26 January 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Bedford Road, School Lane, Turnpike Road, B5704, Newport Road, Woburn Road, The Square, Aspley Hill and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 22 January 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (CLOPHILL ROAD, MAULDEN) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF STOPPING AND WAITING) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from stopping or waiting along the length of Clophill Road, Maulden between C100 and A6.

This temporary no stopping or waiting is required to safely facilitate the Clophill Roundabout works and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that no stopping or waiting will be in force on Friday 26 to Tuesday 30 January 2024. The order will be in operation at all times during this period.

Any vehicles found to be in contravention of this order will be removed from the public highway and stored until the registered owner arranges collection.

The Order will come into operation on 26 January 2024 for a period of twelve months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (SILSOE BYPASS AND BARTON ROAD, SILSOE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the lengths of Silsoe Bypass and Barton Road, Silsoe between Barton Road and A6 Silsoe Bypass roundabout.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 15 to 19 January 2024 between the hours of 8pm and 5am. The roads will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A6, A507, A600, A505, B655, A6 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 15 January 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – NOTICE OF MAKING FLITWICK TRANSPORT INTERCHANGE NO ENTRY EXCEPT BUSES

On 12th January 2024 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:

To introduce No Entry Except Buses at the Flitwick Transport Interchange as per the shaded area on the below plan:-

Date of Operation:- The Order will come into operation on the 15th January 2024.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 12th January 2024, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
