What is planned?

Submission of Environmental Statement to
accompany live Planning Appeal

In accordance with Part 5 Regulation 20 of The Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2017, an Environmental Statement has been submitted by Bewley Homes to the Secretary of State (The Planning Inspectorate, Room 3J Kite Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Bristol, BS1 6PN) to accompany planning appeal ref: APP/H1705/W/23/3326191 which was made to the Secretary of State on 18th July 2023. The appeal was made against the decision made by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council on the 14th April 2023 in relation to Planning Application Ref: 21/03394/OUT for a proposed development at land at Watermill Bridge, Andover Road, Wash Water, Hampshire comprising of:
“Hybrid application for mixed use community to be delivered in separate phases for up to 270 dwellings, comprising:

A severable outline application including up to 188 dwellings (Use Class C3) including dwellings for older people; a 1,600 square metre community building (Use Class F2(b)), a 1200 square metre Health Centre (Use Class E(e)) and a 250 square metre convenience store (Use Class F2(a)), demolition of Common Farm and associated agricultural buildings, provision of open space, allotments, community gardens, a riverside park/nature trail, drainage attenuation, landscaping and associated infrastructure; and Full application for 82 dwellings (Use Class C3), public open space, associated landscaping and infrastructure works, access arrangements including new vehicular access onto the A343 Andover Road”.

The Environmental Statement and the Planning Application submission can be viewed online at: https://www.basingstoke.gov.uk/view-planning-applications using the appeal reference number: 23/00041/REF and Planning Application Ref: 21/03394/OUT and a hard copy of these documents is also available to view by members of the public at all reasonable hours until 23rd December 2023 at the following address: Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH. A hard copy of the Environmental Statement can also be obtained at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH so long as stocks last.
