CROYDON COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984. SECTION 16A AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION (SPECIAL EVENTS) ACT 1994 TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC & PARKING ORDER REMEMBRANCE DAY AND ARMISTICE DAY COMMEMORATIONS

ASSOCIATED RESTRICTIONS

1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to commemorate Remembrance Day and Armistice Day on the 11 and 12 November 2023 respectively, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily close to vehicular traffic and parking, except for vehicles participating in the processions, those streets or lengths of street specified in the Schedules to this Notice.

2. The provisions of the Order will not prevent access being maintained for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates, or to any other premises accessible from, and only from, such a road.

3. The Order will come into effect on 11 November 2023 and will be re-introduced on 12 November 2023.

4. Nothing in the Order shall apply:

a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.

b) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

5. Whilst the prohibition remains in force, diversion for displaced traffic in the Town Centre will be via Fell Road slip road and Park Lane.
