What is planned?

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF A PUBLIC PATH ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 YORKSHIRE DALES NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY FOOTPATH NOS. 568064 & 568070, SEDBERGH DIVERSION ORDER 2023

On 17 October 2023 the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert the public Footpath No. 568064 starting from a point on the access track at Low Branthwaites at Grid Reference SD 6840 9116 in a west north west direction crossing a sleeper bridge and ladder stile to reach the field boundary at Grid Reference SD 6825 9122, onto a line from GR SD 6825 9122 on the southern side of the field gate following the wall boundary in an easterly direction to a sleeper bridge crossing the stream and a pedestrian gate and continuing east to meet the access track at Grid Reference SD 6842 9124, as shown on the Order map.

The above Order will divert the public Footpath No. 568070 starting from a point on the access track north of the buildings at Low Branthwaites at Grid Reference SD 6840 9119 bearing east south east to a stile and continuing to the western side of a gap in the boundary wall at Grid Reference SD 6850 9114, onto a line from the same point at GR SD 6850 9114 bearing north west for approx. 125 metres to join the access track at Grid Reference SD 6842 9124, as shown on the Order map. The Order comes into forces after 42 days from the date of confirmation of this Order, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question it’s validity, or that of any provisions contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 26 October, 2023, make an application to the High Court.
