What is planned?

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled "The Stopping up of Highway (South East) (No. 22) Order 2023." authorising the stopping up of a an irregular shaped area of footway to the west of Cannon Place in Brighton. This is to enable development as permitted by Brighton and Hove City Council, under reference BH2020/01951.

Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AR or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting NATTRAN/SE/S247/5485). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Jubilee Library, Jubilee Street, Brighton, BN1 1GE.

Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 4 September 2023.
