Regulation 14 – Adoption of Supplementary Planning Documents

Following adoption of the Local Plan on 3 January 2019, a suite of Supplementary Planning Documents and Planning Advice Notes has been prepared which give further guidance on how Local Plan policies will be applied.

Notice is hereby given that on 27July 2023 the Council resolved to adopt the following updated and new Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs):
• Updated Design of Housing Development
• New Sustainable Construction and Climate Change Adaptation

The SPDs and other supporting documents (this adoption statement and a statement for each SPD setting out a summary of the main issues raised through the consultation process and how they have been addressed) are available for inspection: 

All of the documents are available to view online at www.barnsley.gov.uk/supplementaryplanningdocuments

The documents can also be viewed online or as paper copies at Library@ the Lightbox and all branch libraries across the borough during normal opening hours. 

Any person with sufficient interest in the decision to adopt the SPDs may apply to the High Court for permission to apply for a judicial review of that decision. 

Any such application must be made promptly and in any event not later than 3 months after the date on which the SPDs were adopted.
