The Council has received applications: ST/0149/23/HFUL for reinstate windows to lower of property, complying to regulations by using timber frames, metal bars to cover existing window well. Reopen existing window well
replicating neighbouring property. Remove external stairs to rear of property. Replace external rear door, like for like - timber, deep Brunswick Green (Dulux Heritage Collection). Black metal bars to cover window wall
(retrospective) at 25 Mariners Cottages, South Shields, NE33 2NG which affects the setting of a listed building. As this is a householder application, in the event of an appeal against a refusal of planning permission, which is to be dealt with on the basis of representations in writing, any representations made about this application will automatically be sent to the Secretary of State, and there will be no further opportunity to comment at appeal stage. ST/0148/23/LBC for Listed Building Consent sought to reinstate windows to lower of property, complying to regulations by using timber frames, metal bars to cover existing window well. ST/0534/23/FUL for the construction of new college campus building with associated landscaping, highway, drainage and other works; and the change of use, refurbishment and alteration of 16 Barrington Street (Grade II listed) to provide college accommodation at Land between King Street and Coronation Street, South Shields. The proposed development does not accord with the provisions of the development plan in force in the area in which the land to which the application relates is situated. ST/0544/23/LBC for Listed Building Consent sought for internal and external alterations associated with change of use to provide college accommodation at 16 Barrington Street, South Shields, NE33 1AN which affects the setting of a listed building. ST/0535/23/FUL for construction of a new student accommodation block of up to 140 bed spaces with associated landscaping, highway, drainage and other works at Central Library, Prince Georg Square, South Shields, NE33 2PE. The proposed development does not accord with the provisions of the development plan in force in the area in which the land to which the application relates is situated.
