What is planned?

 The Local Planning Authority (“LPA”) of the London Borough of Ealing (“Borough”) has drafted a New Local Plan for consultation. This will shape development in the Borough (excluding the Old Oak & Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) area. Reg 18 Consultation of the New Local Plan was undertaken from November 2022 to February 2023. The comments received for this consultation will be available early 2024.

 In line with Regulation 18 (“Reg 18”) of the Town and County Planning (Local Planning) England Regulations 2012 and the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act (2004), the LPA for the Borough is now preparing Additional Site Allocation for Gypsy and Traveller Pitch Provision for the area.

 The Council has undertaken extensive work to seek to identify suitable sites including the preparation of a Site Identification Paper and as such the LPA for the Borough has identified potentially 6 pitches to be delivered at the sites listed below as part of the Additional Site Allocation for Gypsy and Traveller Pitch Provision.
- Downs Barn Farm/West London Shooting Ground (Eastern Section)
- Northolt Driving Range

“Identified Sites”
 The Additional Site Allocation for Gypsy and Traveller Pitch Provision will address the accommodation needs of gypsy and travellers within the Borough. The Additional Site Allocation for Gypsy and Traveller Pitch Provision is intended to cover the period
2039.

 Pursuant to Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning Act (Local Planning) England Regulations 2018 the LPA for the Borough is required to consult the following bodies and/or individuals as listed below to make representations to the local planning authority about what the Additional Site Allocation for Gypsy and Traveller Pitch Provision with that subject ought to contain. a. such of the specific consultations bodies as the LPA for the Borough consider may have an interest in the subject of the proposed Additional Site Allocation for Gypsy and Traveller Pitch Provision;
b. such of the general consultation bodies as the LPA for the Borough consider appropriate; and

c. such residents or other persons carrying on business in the LPA’s area from
which the LPA for the Borough consider it appropriate to invite
representations

Consultation Period
The consultation will run from 28th June 2023 until 9th August 2023 (“Consultation Period”) and the LPA for the Borough invites and encourages all consultees to make representations about what the draft Additional Site Allocation for Gypsy and Traveller Pitch Provision should contain at the earliest opportunity and in any event no later than by the end of the Consultation Period.

Formal written representations on the Additional Site Allocations for Gypsy and Traveller Pitch Provisions are invited to be made during the Consultation Period and can be made in the following ways.

 send a letter or fill in a comment form available at your local library. A paper copy of the draft new Local Plan can be requested by email to
localplan@ealing.gov.uk. The document will be issued following the payment of a charge to cover administrative and production costs.
