Application reference #1021 dated 16/06/2023 has been received by the above Committee for approval of the following works to an exempt ecclesiastical building.
1. St Bede (Church) - South Shields. Grade II (Listing Number: 1431017)
2. Works Proposed: The existing slate roof is life expired and requires re-roofing. In addition to re-roofing the main slate roof, an area of flat roof between the nave and tower is to be re-instated in lead. In addition to roof work, masonry repairs will be carried out and roof drainage will be improved with the introduction of a secret gutter and additional downpipes.
3. Applicant: Canon William Agley - St. Bede, Westoe Road, South Shields, Tyne and Wear, NE33 4LZ.
