What is planned?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(PART OF COMMON LANE, THORNTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any
vehicle to proceed along Common Lane, Thornton for a
distance of approximately 80 metres (starting at a point
30 metres north of Thornton Grange Access Road).
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
Openreach works, to be carried out and completed in a
manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed between:
Tuesday 27 June 2023 and Thursday 29 June 2023.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via
the remainder of Common Lane, Main Street, Melbourne
Road, Hodsow Lane Roundabout, York Road and
Sutton Lane.
The road will be open at all times to pedestrians, residents
and for emergency services.
The Order will commence 27 June 2023 and continue in
force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until
the works which it is proposed to carry out have been
completed, whichever is the earlier.
