Section 123(1) and (2A) Local Government Act 1972 Notice of Potential Disposal of Open Space

Bewdley Leisure Centre and playing fields, DY12 1BL

Wyre Forest District Council is considering the disposal of areas of land at the above locations. The areas are shown edged red on a plan, which is available for inspection by contacting Kathryn.underhill@wyreforestdc.gov.uk

On 21 March 2023, the District Council's Cabinet approved the principle of terminating the dual use agreement and other documents in respect of Bewdley Leisure Centre and playing fields. That would release the Council's rights under the various agreements, which would constitute a disposal of land that is open space. The proposal would enable the Bewdley School Foundation to have full operational control of the site. The publication of this notice is required by law and does not mean that the disposal of the land will take place.

Any objections to the proposal should be made in writing to Ian Miller, Chief Executive at Wyre Forest House, Finepoint Way, Kidderminster, DY11 7WF by Thursday 25 May or email ian.miller@wyreforestdc.gov.uk
