NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257
AND PARAGRAPH 7 OF SCHEDULE 14

(BISHOP’S STORTFORD 2) DIVERSION ORDER 2022
On 14th February 2023, East Hertfordshire District Council confirmed the
above order.
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath by
extinguishing Bishop’s Stortford Footpath 2 from TL 4843 2309 and running
NE and NW across the field for approx. 100m to the S side of the Bishop’s
Stortford Bypass (A120) at TL 4841 2317, continuing NE following the
S boundary of the A120 for approx 165m to TL 4855 2325; extinguishing
the footpath commencing from a junction with Bishop’s Stortford Footpath 2
at TL 4840 2314 and running NNW then NE, for approx 40m, to TL 4841
2317; creating an alternative footpath instead on a line running from a
junction with Bishop’s Stortford Footpath 2 at TL 4843 2309 continuing
NNW for approx 60m to the S side of the noise bund at TL 4840 2314,
continuing ENE for approx 165m, following the S side of the noise bund,
to join the W side of the public road at TL 4855 2317, then re-commencing
from the E side of the public road at TL 4856 2318 and continuing N for
approx 85m to re-join Bishop’s Stortford Footpath 2 on the E side of the
roundabout at TL 4855 2325 as shown on the order plan.
A copy of the confirmed order and the order plan may be seen free
of charge at front reception of Hertfordshire County Council, County Hall,
Hertford, from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on Monday to Friday, at
www.eastherts.gov.uk/highways-and-parking/public-path-orders and
at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/rowapps. Copies of the order and plan may
be bought from Hertfordshire County Council at the price of £5.
The order comes into force on the date on which East Hertfordshire District
Council certify that the terms of Article 2 of the order have been complied
with but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its
validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not
within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement
of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with
in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the
High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and
Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice
is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to the Act.
TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FOOTPATH SAWBRIDGEWORTH 22
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has extended, with
consent of the Secretary of State, the Order which was made under
Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. To prohibit
pedestrians from using that length of Footpath Sawbridgeworth 22,
heading east from Lowfield to junction with Footpath 21, for an
approximate distance of 140 metres.
Alternative route: via Lowfield, Brook Road and Footpath 21.
The purpose of the Order is to enable surface repair works to take place.
The section of Footpath will continue to be closed for up to 6 months
until 06/10/2023 or completion of the works whichever is sooner.
