What is planned?

Highways Act Section 90a Duke Street, Darlington.

Proposed Construction Of Humped Speed Tables, Priority Crossings And Speed Cushions.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 90A of the Highways Act 1990 Darlington

Borough Council proposes to install Speed Tables on duke Street, Darlington.

The proposals comprise: -

4 No. Constructed Speed Tables.

1 No. Priority Crossing.

6 No. Speed Cushions

Dimensions.

1 No. Table at 100mm high (maximum), overall length 9.5 metres, width covers the extents of the carriageway on Duke Street. On/off ramp gradient 1 in 15.

1 No. Table at 100mm high (maximum), length 13.5metres along Duke Street and 7.1 m length North into Outram Street, width covers the extents of the carriageway on Duke Street and Outram Street. On/off ramp gradient 1 in 15.

1 No. Table at 100mm high (maximum), length 26.5 metres along Duke Street and 27.5 metres length North to South on Larchfield Street, width covers the extents of the carriageway on Duke Street and Larchfield Street. On/off ramp gradient 1 in 15.

1 No. Table at 100mm high (maximum), length 15.4 metres along Duke Street and 23.3 metres length North to South on Raby Terrace, width covers the extents of the carriageway on Duke Street and Raby Terrace. On/off ramp gradient 1 in 15.

1 No. Priority crossing at 100mm high (maximum), overall length 7.8 metres, width covers the extents of the junction carriageway on Barnard Street. On/off ramp gradient 1 in 15.

6No. Speed Cushions at 75mm high (maximum), overall length 2.0 metres, overall width 1.65 metres installed in the carriageway on Larchfield Street. On/off ramps gradient 1 in 15, side ramps 1 in 8.

Arrangement of Speed Tables, Priority Crossings and Speed Cushions. Tables

Tables to be arranged with ramps perpendicular to their respective named road for lengths specified. Priority crossings

Crossing features to align with the junction of Duke Street and extend for the specified length into their

respective named road.

Cushions

Speed cushions to be arranged in sets of three adjacent to one another with on off ramps parallel to the

direction of traffic on their respective named road.

1 No. Table on Duke Street at a location 46.7 metres West of its junction with Outram Street.

1 No Table, on Duke Street at its junction with Outram Street.

1 No Table, on Duke Street at its junction with Larchfield Street.

1 No Table, on Duke Street at its junction with Raby Terrace.

1 No. Priority Crossing on Barnard Street 0.8m North of its junction with Duke Street.

1 set of three Speed Cushions on Larchfield Street 4.0m North of its junction with Duke Street North Back

Street. 0.7m spacings between cushions.

1 set of three Speed Cushions on Larchfield Street 4.3m North of its junction with East Raby Street. 0.6m spacings between cushions.

All dimensions and locations in this notice are approximate. Traffic signs and road markings will be installed in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. Plans showing the locations of the Speed Table features may be inspected at Darlington Borough Council, 17 Allington Way, Darlington, DL1 4QB.
