Notice is hereby given that Alcemi Storage Development 6 Ltd, company registration number 13848257 with a Registered Office at First Floor Winston House, 349 Regents Park Road, London, N31DH, has applied to the Scottish Ministers for consent under section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 to construct and operate an energy storage development, known as Coalburn 2 Energy Storage Facility, on land at Broken Cross Open Cast Mine, Tower Road, Douglas, Lanark, ML11 9PB Grid Reference NS 285 636. The installed capacity of the proposed storage facility would be up to 1000 MW.

The installed capacity of the proposed storage facility would be up to 1000 MW.
Alcemi Storage Developments 6 Ltd has also applied for a direction under section 57(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 that planning permission for the development be deemed to be granted.
A copy of the application, together accompanying documents and plans can be viewed free of charge at the Lesmahagow Library, 48 Abbeygreen, Lesmahagow, Lanark. ML11 0EF during the following times: Tuesday 9:30am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 4:30pm, Wednesday 9:30am to
12:30pm, Thursday 2:00pm to 4:30pm, Friday 9:30am to 12:30pm; or on the application website at https://alcemi.info/home.html.
The application can also be viewed at www.energyconsents.scot.
Any representations to the application may be submitted via the Energy Consents Unit website at www.energyconsents.scot/Register.aspx; by email to the Scottish Government, Energy Consents Unit mailbox at representations@gov.scot; or by post to the Scottish Government, Energy Consents Unit, 4th Floor, 5 Atlantic Quay, 150 Broomielaw, Glasgow, G2 8LU, identifying the proposal and specifying the grounds for representation.
Written or emailed representations should be dated, clearly stating the name (in block capitals), full return email and postal address of those making representations. Only representations sent by email to representations@gov.scot will receive acknowledgement. All representations should be received not later than [the date falling 30 days from the date of the last print publication of this notice], although Scottish Ministers may consider representations received after this date.
As a result of a statutory objection from the relevant planning authority, or where Scottish Ministers decide to exercise their discretion to do so, Scottish Ministers can also cause a Public Local Inquiry (PLI) to be held.
Following examination of the environmental information, Scottish Ministers will determine the application for consent in one of two ways:
● Consent the proposal, with or without conditions attached; or
● Reject the proposal
